FASSIL: Additive Manufacturing for Health ‐ new Silicones
The FASSIL project aims to take silicone elastomers to the additive manufacturing stage to enable health players to access new materials through tailored and on-demand manufacturing and innovation methods, while remaining economically competitive. Heart and prostate models, incorporating a pre-operative approach, as well as personalized larynx implants, will be developed and validated by the consortium members and with the help of surgeons. The prototypes from the project will go into the industrialization phase from 2019.
The aim of the FASSIL project is to create a network of expertise, industrialization and commercialization of 3D silicone printing for implants, both in France and abroad. This project is also part of a major strategy to develop the industrial plant of the future and transform business models through digital technology.
