AMITIE : Additive Manufacturing Initiative for Transnational Innovation in Europe
Additive manufacturing technologies and digital manufacturing methods have been recognized as the next industrial revolution that will bring clients’ needs and offerings closer to suppliers. The objectives of the AMITE project are to strengthen the EU’s capacity in the field of ceramic-based additive manufacturing through its extensive program of transnational cooperation and cross-sectoral detachments and to promote the rapid transfer of technology in addition to training experts in additive manufacturing.
The project brings together academic and industrial stakeholders in the fields of materials sciences, processes, materials characterization, additive manufacturing technologies and associated numerical simulations. These partners develop an intelligent plant concept based on additive manufacturing technologies and their hybridization. It enables the production of parts whose dimensions, shapes, functionality and assembly strategies can be adapted to the key technological issues of the production of high value-added objects combinatorial pathways.
