DURAFIP: Modeling of the mechanical durability of a technical plastic part
The reduction of controlled-cost structures is a major issue; to achieve this, the use of thermoplastics with discontinuous or continuous reinforcement is necessary. To date, their use on structural parts has been hampered by the lack of predictive simulation tools. The dynamic simulation of fiber-reinforced PA 6.6 Parts has recently gone to the next level through the use of multi-scale calculations. The objective of this project is to move from the impact process to the calculations of fatigue, to become predictive. Project deliverables are a “fatigue” version of the Digimat software, providing optimized parameters for predictive calculations and a technology demonstrator.
