NCF HP²: High-performance, high-productivity carbon fiber-based textiles for thermosetting composite materials
The HP² NCF Project aims at developing a new generation of carbon fiber-based textiles as well as the associated textile processes for the manufacture of thermosetting composite parts for the aeronautic and automotive industry. The benefits in terms of holding and drapability of NCF textiles on pre-impregnated carbon (reinforcements are currently most used in the aerospace industry), make it possible to manufacture complex parts by minimizing manufacturing costs. Finally, the resin – reinforcing textile bonding brings more flexibility to manufacturing and a significant reduction in the full cost of the part compared to processes using pre-impregnated materials. These composite materials have many advantages: durability, light weight, performance, resistance, comfort and they help reduce the weight of the vehicles, which in turn enables them to respond to changes in regulations concerning CO² emissions.
