Synthèse polymères
  • The Polymer Materials platform is dedicated to the synthesis of polymers through bulk polymerization and their processing by extrusion or pressing. Axel’One relies, among other things, on the many years of experience of its associated partners (CNRS, SYENSQO, TSA, BRABENDER, LEISTRIZ, CLEXTRAL) in the implementation and shaping of thermoplastic polymers and thermoplastic-based composite materials.
  • The synthesis tools are accessible either at Axel’One Campus (via the IMP laboratory – UMR CNRS 5223, Engineering of Polymer Materials) or at Axel’One PMI (via AdChem4 – Future Investment Program, led by Syensqo). Bulk polycondensation and solid post-condensation (polyester and copolyester, polyamide and copolyamide, polyester amide, with the possibility of using liquid or solid monomers derived from petrochemicals or bio-sourced materials). The associated expertise includes polycondensation processes, thermal transfer, and agitation of viscous media, as well as offline analysis of polyesters and polyamides (SEC; Raman; Rheology) and the industrialization of processes.
  • Thanks to its collaboration with the IMP laboratory, Axel’One has expertise in reactive extrusion coupled with online analysis to facilitate scale-up and continuous processing transitions. The activities are also based on numerous collaborations with industrial and academic laboratory partners from the Lyon Polymer Science and Engineering (LPSE).
