A company specialized in corrosion based on Axel’One
MECM joined the Axel’One PPI facility (Innovative Processes Platform) in autumn 2018. Created in 2013, the company named MECM for “Materials Engineering & Corrosion Management” is specialized in the corrosion of industrial installations.
MECM’s approach contributes to the continuous improvement of the reliability of chemical engineering units. The company offers services to prevent failure through various expertise: material selection, degradation diagnosis, corrosion monitoring and training. The company targets the chemical and pharmaceutical markets and more generally the process industry and the boiler-making industry.
MECM was previously based in the south-east of Lyon. By settling down on the Axel’One platform, the company is in a better environment for innovation. MECM is moving into another phase of development which involves laboratory activities oncorrosion monitoring.
For this activity, MECM uses acoustic emission technologies, conductive probes and linear polarization resistance probes. Synergies are possible with the acoustic emission activities driven by the Axel’One industrial analysis team. MECM’s activities are also linked to the Axel’One technological platforms about digital modeling and process optimization. The acoustic emission data provided by MECM can be used to enrich digital models.
Furthermore, MECM is a partner of a consortium gathering SMEs, academic and research actors whose activities will be developed on the Axel’One platform.
